QS Network As
a construction sector practice, McLeman QS Network recognises that its
activities impact upon the environment, and acknowledges its
responsibility for creating and maintaining an adequate management
system to optimise the achievement of the following environmental
objectives: MQSN is committed to: 1.1
Providing an environment that is welcoming and secure, which sets high
standards and raises aspirations. An environment of which staff can be
proud and which encourages everyone to achieve their fullest
potential. Environment in this context is taken to mean every part of
the physical and natural environment, in our own office or on any
projects where the practice has control or influence, 1.2
Maintaining a sustainable balance between the demands for conservation
and enhancement of the natural environment including the biodiversity
of indigenous wildlife, and the needs of construction related
development, 1.3
Consulting widely with relevant, interested parties in relation to the
development of any site, 1.4
Raising staff's, and 'parties in contact with us'
consciousness of local and national environmental issues through the
channels of education, publicity and staff development, encouraging
them to accept personal and social responsibilities for the
environment around them, 1.5
Monitoring its impact on the local environment adjacent to our
operations, and consulting widely on consequences arising, 1.6
Seeking to conform fully with National and European legislation on
environmental issues, 1.7
Encouraging the discussion of relevant environmental issues within the
practice and with other Consultants, Contractors and Clients, 1.8
Addressing specific environmental management issues in the areas of:
energy, waste, transport, planning, purchasing and publicity, 1.9
Maintaining, through an appropriate management system, an environment
that enhances and facilitates development, but which seeks to maximise
alternative options for long-term use, 1.10
Recognition of senior management's individual environmental
responsibilities. MQSN will expect such senior managers to respond
actively to the challenges of the environment and this policy, 1.11
Reviewing the content of this policy and its sub-sections regularly in
the light of changing circumstances, 1.12
The recognition, and publication of areas within which we
demonstrate successful implementation of this policy. Agreed by The Sole Principal and the Environmental Management Executive Working Group: March 2005
